Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of India on November 12, 2025, the approved the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Exporters (CGSE). The scheme provides 100% credit guarantee coverage through the National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company Limited (NCGTC) to Member Lending Institutions (MLIs) for extending collateral-free credit facilities up to ₹20,000 crore to eligible exporters, including MSMEs.

The implementation of CGSE will be carried out by the Department of Financial Services (DFS) through NCGTC. A Management Committee, chaired by the Secretary, DFS, will oversee the scheme’s progress and implementation. The initiative aims to boost liquidity, support market diversification, and enhance the global competitiveness of Indian exporters by facilitating easy access to credit without collateral requirements.

The CGSE is expected to bolster India’s export ecosystem by enabling exporters to expand into new markets, sustain employment, and contribute to the government’s vision of achieving USD 1 trillion in exports. The move underscores the government’s commitment to Aatmanirbhar Bharat and recognises exports as a key pillar of economic growth, accounting for 21% of GDP and supporting over 45 million jobs.
